Distributed the Viva! leaflet 'People & Planet' and the Vegan Society's booklet 'Eating the Earth' How your diet could change the world. There were gatherings at different parts of Central London with the marches converging on Trafalgar Square. Personally went to Grosvenor Square near the American Embassy (a short distance from Hyde Park) where there were lots of banners and placards especially noticable were the Green Party, Friend's of the Earth, Greenpeace and messages to cut carbon emissions. There were also many anti-Bush/Blair placards but no other messages that I could see relating to the destruction caused by meat consumption. After the speeches were over we set off to march to Trafalgar Square. As we approached Piccadilly there were opportunities to get our message to the general public and start handing out the leaflets. Trafalgar Square was quite full on arrival but at the top level and near the back there was a lot of movement of people and this was where campaigners managed to distribute most of their literature helped in my case by the placard. Met a few other vegan campaigners including the Vegan Society's local contacts co-ordinator. After the event we headed for Vita Organics vegan restaurant in Leicester Square.
